Tuition tailored to individual needs can quickly and effectively improve understanding and confidence. This leads to enhanced attainment and allows new material to be assimilated more easily.
I am a qualified Science teacher and offer one to one tuition in your home.
Students at school sometimes want to revise, reinforce and practise work. They may need to make up material covered in class while they were absent due to illness or holiday. They might need help and guidance with revision programmes.
Whatever the learning needs, individual tuition may be helpful in meeting them.
How it works
For each student, I aim to identify what outcome is desired from a series of lessons. Then I propose a course of lessons designed to:
Identify current strengths and weaknesses. Improve knowledge and understanding sufficiently to reach the desired outcome. Make use of a range of learning techniques to maintain interest. Incorporate homework for revision and practice.
This approach is designed to involve the student in the learning process and to improve the student's study technique as well as to boost marks in assessments.
Fees are around £25 per hour depending on distance and level of instruction required.
I also offer less formal tuition in the use of PCs. Families who have bought a computer to help their children at school but are not sure of how to get the best out of it may find this especially useful. Please contact me to discuss your particular needs.
